Frequently Asked Questions

Many of my clients are still showing up to work, caring for their families, meeting deadlines, and accomplishing impressive things. Burnout doesn't always look like falling apart. It often looks like functioning at a high level while feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected, resentful, or unable to enjoy your life. Burnout therapy helps you understand what's happening beneath the constant pressure to keep performing and create a more sustainable way of living.

Therapy for high-achieving women focuses on the unique pressures that often come with leadership, caregiving, perfectionism, and over-responsibility. Many successful women have learned to measure their worth through productivity, achievement, or taking care of everyone else. Therapy helps untangle those patterns so success no longer comes at the expense of your wellbeing.
-
Not necessarily- and that's something we'll determine together.
EMDR can be an incredibly effective treatment for trauma, distressing memories, anxiety, and nervous system responses that feel stuck. But it's not the right starting point for everyone, and it's never something I rush into simply because it's popular.
During our work together, we'll first develop a clear understanding of what's bringing you to therapy, how your nervous system responds to stress, and what approach is most likely to help you create lasting change. For some clients, EMDR becomes an important part of the process. For others, relational therapy, parts work, somatic approaches, or another trauma-informed intervention may be a better fit.
My goal isn't to fit you into a specific therapy modality- it's to find the approach that best supports you.
-
Yes. Perfectionism and overfunctioning are often adaptive responses developed over many years- not personality flaws. Together we'll explore the experiences that shaped these patterns, build healthier boundaries, regulate your nervous system, and help you reconnect with yourself instead of constantly performing for others.
-
Many people assume they're simply stressed or overwhelmed when, in reality, old survival strategies are driving the way they work, care for others, and move through relationships. Trauma therapy looks beyond symptoms to understand the nervous system, relationships, and life experiences that may be contributing to burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, or chronic over-responsibility.
-
My work integrates trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, parts work, somatic therapy, attachment-based therapy, and relational psychotherapy. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, we'll build a therapy process that fits your experiences, goals, and nervous system.
-
Absolutely. Many clients come to therapy during periods of significant change- including career shifts, burnout, becoming a parent, infertility, grief, divorce, identity exploration, or simply realizing the life they've built no longer feels like their own. Therapy provides space to process those transitions while creating a more intentional path forward.

For many people, yes. Research consistently shows that virtual therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for concerns like anxiety, burnout, trauma, perfectionism, and life transitions.
